Silver Dollar City in Branson Missouri is one of our favorite places to visit.
So it was no surprise that my son chose this for his birthday trip.
The kids will tell you that Silver Dollar City is an amusement park.
But I am going to give you the ultimate junker’s guide through Silver Dollar City!
If you’ve never been there before, I have to say that this is a Junker’s dream!
My son went for the rides, of course, but I love going there to see all of wonderful antiques they have on display throughout the park!
As you walk into the park, you will walk through a store that sells Silver Dollar City merchandise.
But if you turn to your left after the store, that’s where the fun begins! You will truly appreciate this junker’s guide!!
Practically hidden in the park is an old cabin called Birdle’s Cabin.
This cabin was owned by a woman named Birdle Mannon and her family. They came to Missouri from Nebraska to settle. They lived their life with no modern conveniences but depended on her faith in God, the land and her own wits and abilities for survival.
Sometimes I wish I could live this way but I quickly get over it! 😉
What I love about this cabin is the way they built their house. No power tools. Just a man and an axe.
Here are just a few of the treasures as you walk inside the cabin. I LOVE this cook stove!
Silver Dollar City has these cute little designs and signs thoughout their park. 😊
Here are a couple of repurposed items that are also in the park.
They even repurpose items for use in their stores.
Check out this awesome sewing machine under all of those shirts!
We loved this washtub that we found hiding in a corner. Usually the old ones are smaller and round but this was full size!
A windmill is the power behind this water fountain.
I would love to have a woodshop similar to this when I work on my projects.
This one is actually attached to the furniture store. They have demos at certain times of the day of how they make their furniture and then sell it in their store.
Loved this sign!
If you ever go to Silver Dollar City, you HAVE to check out Sullivan’s Mill and try their cinnamon bread!
It is the best and we have to buy one or two loaves every time we go. 😋
It was a full and tiring day but we had so much fun!
Check out this awesome rainbow we saw as we were driving home!
Look really close because it’s in the clouds. 🌈
