Hi from Grandma Creates!
We were young parents at 18 and 21 years old when we had our twin sons. Now that was overwhelming!! Fast forward 10 years later and we became parents again to another son.
In 2015, we found out that we were going to be grandparents! We were both overjoyed to say the least!
My grandma’s were both a huge part of my life growing up so I was ecstatic when I found out that I was going to be one.
Our little grandson was born in December 2015 and our granddaughter was born in May 2018.
Everyone kept asking me what I wanted my grandchildren to call me but I was just fine with whatever name they chose. I definitely didn’t have a preference and neither did my husband.
It was such a fun time when my grandson looked up at me to ask a question and he called me Amma! I couldn’t have chosen a better name and was so happy that he chose it for me.
My #1 goal when I found I that I going to be an Amma was to find the creative side of myself so I could share with my grandchildren.
And did I ever!!!
I bought a Silhouette Cameo, a heat press and some vinyl to make all things baby for my new grandchild. We also purchased an embroiderer/sewing machine and I love it!! I have taught myself to sew and embroider and now have another fun way to share our creativity.
I loved working with it all so much that I made it into a small business.
Now that our grandson is a little older, we love teaching him how to have fun with age appropriate crafts and to make precious memories with his Amma and Papa. We look forward to having fun with our granddaughter too!
So now we want to share our fun times and activities with you!
- You want to spend time with your grandchildren but have no idea what to do when they spend the day with you.
- You are frustrated because they tell you that they are bored or they want to play on their video games all day.
- You hang out on Pinterest and Instagram hoping to be inspired.
- You need activities that will help you strengthen your relationship with your grandchildren while having fun at the same time.
My vision of this site is to create a resource of ideas that grandparents could turn to, that they could use. Ideas that are easy and inexpensive. We also want to talk about topics like having grown kids while raising a teenager, health stuff, parenting stuff and so much more.
I hope you get as much enjoyment out of our site as we do!!
